Gen 5 Glock 23 - The 23 ball was introduced in 1990 with the new .40 S&W cartridge and has been with us for over 30 years. Essentially a 19 bullet with a heavier slide and larger bore in the barrel, the Glock 23 is the little brother of the full-size Glock 22 model.
I'll never forget the first time I shot a Glock 23. It was a second-generation police model purchased at a local gun store, complete with a Hogue manual rubber grip. The shorter frame felt good in my hand, so I made sure to engage it with the test rifle and load it.

At this point, I've only shot .22, 9mm, and .45 ACP semi-auto pistols, and none of them had anywhere near the experience of a .23. The muzzle lift was much more than the rolling .45 wonder of this 1911. But it still needs to be use more sparingly. After a few rounds I got the hang of it and smiled at the end of the magazine.

Second impression trigger. This was my first experience with a Glock and I really liked the constant pressure on the trigger. Not too light and not too heavy, no double action to single action conversion like my friend's old Ruger P-89.
I rated the capacity and capacity in the larger Glock magazines from thirteen rounds to 22 for fifteen rounds of fun before reloading the weapon. Specs, the Glock setup is more than adequate for the capabilities of my brand. (Would you rather wear it? Check out my guide to holographic spectra)
The only complaint I could write against this gun is that the shorter grips and finger grooves of the Gen 3 and Gen 4 models do not fit my fingers. A narrow slot under the trigger protects my index finger. With my friend's full size Glocks 17 and 21 this was not a problem - the grooves fit well. Although the problem is easily solved with a sanding belt, he does not like to sand a new gun. Thankfully, Glock heeded the cries of fat and lines in the Gen 5 and much to my delight (by cutting my money).
The Glock 23 is used by several law enforcement agencies in the United States, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
